How Arben learned German and found a job in Germany: a success story
When Arben started learning German, it wasn't easy for him at all. He was 27, worked long hours and knew nothing of the language. But he had a clear goal: to go to Germany and build a better life for himself.
“I remember the first days when I didn't understand what the teacher was saying in class. Even ‘Wie geht's?’ felt like maths,” Arben told us.
He enrolled in the German course at Ré nao, starting at level A1. At first he had to put in a huge effort: learning new words every day, listening to audio and doing grammar exercises even when he was tired after work.
The methods that worked for him
Since Ré nao takes care to tailor its methods to each student, here's what worked for Arben.
The key to his success was consistency and the support he got in class. His teachers gave him not only language knowledge but also confidence.
“On the course they didn't just teach me grammar rules, they taught me how to think in German. They pushed me to speak without fear, even when I made mistakes.”
He used apps, listened to podcasts for beginners and watched simple YouTube videos every evening.
On top of that, the activities they did in class helped him feel free to communicate.
After a few months of intensive study, Arben reached level B1 and got his language certificate. What followed was a job offer from a company in Hamburg.
“They needed someone who understood the system but could also speak the language clearly. When I spoke German during the interview, I felt that all the tiring, hard work had been worth it.”
Today Arben lives in Germany and works full time. He says learning the language was his “ticket” to a new life.
“Don't wait to be perfect before you start. Start with one word, carry on with one sentence, and suddenly you're living your dream in another country” is Arben's advice to you.
Arben's story shows that learning a language isn't just a course, it's a step towards changing your life. If you too dream of studying, living or working abroad, now is the time to begin. Start right away. Start TODAY.
